Reading past messages is an eye-opener to how far Iā€™ve come! There was a time I was sitting at my desk, texting my husband from the toilet (because we werenā€™t allowed our phones out) telling him I had just cried at work. Trying to make it through another day in a place that completely drained me. ā€ØI know we donā€™t always love our jobs, but crying every day on the drive home canā€™t be normalā€¦ right? I had never not worked, so being unemployed never even crossed my mind as an option. I told myself Iā€™d just stick it out. But my heart was literally breaking every morning and never experienced anxiety until this job. I put my health first, took a risk and I QUIT!!!! It was the worst place Iā€™ve ever worked and it was the most freeing decision Iā€™ve ever made. I didnā€™t have a back up plan or another interview, let alone a jobā€¦ Decided to pursue content and now I run an award winning business (Norfolk Social ?), work for myself. I get invited to events, collaborate with brands, and get to build something that actually aligns with who I am instead of breaking me down!!! ? No one should have to cry at their desk. End of. Toxic management should be held accountable, and employees deserve real, safe ways to report it, especially in small businesses where ā€œHRā€ is just the bossā€™s partner ?

Ive woken up to a nomination! And not just any nomination but for @eastanglianmarketingawards FREELANCER OF THE YEAR?! WHATTTT! This actually means so much because if someone told me 2 years ago Iā€™d be thriving right now, I would not believe them! Going freelance was the scariest thing EVER because I was 9 weeks pregnant when I got made redundant. I went to a few interviews and by then I was around 12 weeks and it just didnā€™t feel right, I thought lets just stop and use my husbands credit card for a bit ? and see if I can work for myself and before I knew it (with lots of networking and outreach) I actually had work coming in! I am so grateful for all the support Iā€™ve had and all the connections Iā€™ve made so far. Even being nominated alone is such a big winning feeling for me and be alongside such amazing women is absolutely incredible! But looking back, I really wish I had someone in my corner at the beginning to help guide the way. Max is 13 years old and has taken a passion in photography and content, heā€™s been on a few content days with me now and is creating some seriously good content. I am so glad to be able to do this with him and watch his creativity grow! It costs nothing to help someone, and you never know how far a little guidance can go! Did a content day at @pacepadelnorfolk and I delivered the content within 3 hours! ?? Created a menu, set up a new instagram and facebook page for a new restaurant opening soon in Bristol! ? A few shots from my latest impulse buy - well not impulse. Have been thinking about this for ages! Do I need it? Invest or not? Is my business taking off? Will it be even busier 2026?
